COKE RACE #3
This long standing Durango event brings skiers together to celebrate winter from beginning to end.
NEW New plan! After further discussion, we’ll offer the ADULT skate and classic races separately. One entry fee gets you either or both races! On the registration page, specify whether you are doing skate ONLY, Classic ONLY, or both skate & classic.
YOUTH races are classic OR skate. If your kiddo wants to do both, they’ll sign up for the first race as skate and then join the 11:20 youth/adult classic race.
Please note that we are keeping it simple and will have one classic track groomed.
We are also changing up the start times for the races so that parents racing in the 10 km can hopefully have a chance to see their kiddos racing.
The start/finish will be due east of the Nordic Center building, where the Pine Needle Langlauf start/finish was on Feb. 18.
Location: Durango Nordic Center
Race Lengths: 10 km (adult); 5 km (adults/youth); 3 km & 1.5 km (youth)
Schedule:
9 AM - 10:30 AM: Registration & bib pick up
10 AM: 10 km & 5 km mass start adult skate
10:45 AM: 5 km mass start youth skate OR classic
10:50 AM: 3 km mass start youth skate OR classic
10:52 AM: 1.5 km mass start youth skate OR classic
11:20 AM: 5 km mass start adult/youth classic (if there are kids who want to race both 5 km skate & classic, they will do the 10:45 5km skate race and then the 11:20 classic. We’ll push the start time back on the classic race if necessary to accommodate).
12:10ish: Awards ceremony on the deck
Course: We will be skiing counterclockwise on the course. See map here.
Medals will be awarded to the first three female and male finishers in each distance for each age category.
